Joel Kon graduated from the University of Reading (England) with an LL.B (Hons) degree and professional qualifications from both Malaysia and the United Kingdom. He completed his Certificate in Legal Practice (Malaysia) and chambered at Shearn Delamore & Co in Kuala Lumpur where he was primarily engaged in the Intellectual Property and Personal Data Protection areas of practice. He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. He then pursued the Bar Professional Training Course at City University in London and was called to the Bar of England & Wales as a Barrister-at-Law by The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.
His experience encompasses legal due diligence exercises on various public and private limited companies, trademark registration and patent litigation matters, general corporate advisory work as well as conveyancing matters. Joel Kon has previously obtained an Ontario Scholarship Award to pursue his career in North America.
Since the founding of this firm, he is instrumental in building the team to greater heights.
Chloe Tan is a partner at Messrs Joel & Co. She has previously read law at Universiti Utara Malaysia as a JPA scholar and graduated in 2015 with first class honours. She was called to the Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya and primarily focuses on Corporate and Litigation matters.
Hailey Lee graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from the University of London. She was called to the Malaysian Bar and admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2018 and has since been in active practice.
Prior to joining the Firm, she was exposed to a wide range of general conveyancing and real estate matters, including providing legal advice to clients on land related matters and agreements drafting.
She is currently involved in a wide spectrum of corporate and litigation matters in the Firm. She is conversant in English, Malay and Mandarin.
Tan Yi Ching
Tan Yi Ching graduated with Bachelor of Law (Hons) Degree from the University of London. She then completed her Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) the year thereafter.
She is admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya and was extensively exposed to various areas of law particularly conveyancing, corporate real estate transactions and general litigation in her previous firm.
She is presently practice in areas of the firm's work which includes Corporate & Conveyancing, Litigation and Intellectual Property matter.
Ngo Hsiao May
Ngo Hsiao May read law from the University of Warwick as a JPA Scholar. She was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2020.
Having gained experience in a wide range of construction, corporate and commercial disputes, she is currently assisting the firm in litigation and corporate matters. She also has a keen interest in alternative dispute resolution such as mediation as she believes that the true practice of law is about resolving disputes with amicable and logical solutions.
