Joel Kon graduated from the University of Reading (England) with an LL.B (Hons) degree and professional qualifications from both Malaysia and the United Kingdom. He completed his Certificate in Legal Practice (Malaysia) and chambered at Shearn Delamore & Co in Kuala Lumpur where he was primarily engaged in the Intellectual Property and Personal Data Protection areas of practice. He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. He then pursued the Bar Professional Training Course at City University in London and was called to the Bar of England & Wales as a Barrister-at-Law by The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.
His experience encompasses legal due diligence exercises on various public and private limited companies, trademark registration and patent litigation matters, general corporate advisory work as well as conveyancing matters. Joel Kon has previously obtained an Ontario Scholarship Award to pursue his career in North America.
Since the founding of this firm, he is instrumental in building the team to greater heights.
Chloe Tan is a partner at Messrs Joel & Co. She has previously read law at Universiti Utara Malaysia as a JPA scholar and graduated in 2015 with first class honours. She was called to the Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya and primarily focuses on Corporate and Litigation matters.
Albert Ng Kee Yeong read law at University of Leeds where he graduated with Second Class Upper with Honours and thereafter obtained his Certificate in Legal Practice (Malaysia). He completed his pupillage at Jeff Leong Poon & Wong where he was exposed to mainly corporate financing matters. Subsequently, he was admitted to the Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor of High Court of Malaya in 2019.
Ivy Tan Han Rui read law at Cardiff University where she graduated with Second Class Upper with Honours and thereafter completed her Certificate in Legal Practice (Malaysia). She has previously chambered and practiced as a Legal Associate at Shook Lin & Bok where she was exposed to mainly corporate and commercial matters. She was admitted to the Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor of High Court of Malaya in 2017.
Jeremy Tan Say Boon read law at the University of Reading where he graduated with Second Class Upper and thereafter went on to pursue the Bar Professional Training Course at the University of Law, London. He completed his pupillage at Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill where he had the opportunity to be involved in various Foreign Direct Investment matters such as the setting up of a popular hot pot chain in Malaysia, renewal of licenses for logistics providers, amongst other various matters.
He was called to the Bar of England & Wales as a Barrister-at-Law by The Honourable Society of Lincolns Inn in 2017 and went on to be admitted to the Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2019.
